Requesting a gold loan

Am I eligible for a gold loan?

Anyone with gold jewellery is eligible to apply for a gold loan. You are required to provide the following documents:

  • Any 1 of the following ID Proofs:
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Voter ID
    • PAN Card
    • Passport
    • Driving License
  • Any 1 of the following Address Proofs (Local Address only):
    • Aadhaar Card
    • Voter ID
    • Passport
    • Driving License
    • Utility Bill / Lease Agreement of local address (Phone / Gas / Electricity / Water / Broadband etc) supported by any one of the above
  • Cancelled cheque leaf of your bank account.

How much money can I avail through a gold loan?

The eligible amount for a gold loan is calculated using the following parameters:

  • Net weight of the jewellery
  • Purity
  • Prevailing gold rate
  • Scheme chosen

Can I pledge anything other than gold?

No. Our lending partners accept only gold jewellery. We do not accept gold coins and bars.

Are all gold items accepted?

No. Our lending partners accept only gold jewellery. For example, we do not accept gold coins and gold bars.

Only Jewellery of 18 carats and above is accepted, subject to valuation reports.

Is there any physical office to pledge the gold?

Yes. We have physical branches where you can pledge your gold. However you need to contact us on 08068186818 or raise a request through our app before directly visiting the branch.

I do not have a smart phone, can I still avail a gold loan?

We encourage you to apply through the Rupeek app on a smartphone. But no worries if you do not own one - You can simply call us at 080-68186818 and schedule our executive within 2 hours at your doorstep.

What is the rate of interest for the gold loan?

What is the tenure for gold loan?

Currently, we offer tenure of 6 months on the gold loan.

Is Rupeek an NBFC?

Rupeek Capital is an NBFC approved by RBI. Rupeek has also partnered with highly trusted banks and NBFCs to disburse gold loans.

Can I request gold loan in someone else's name?


What purposes can I request a gold loan for?

You can use the loan amount to suit any need that does not entail illegal activities, money laundering, terrorism or any other activity prohibited by law.

What are the documents required for the gold loan?

We need 3 documents:

  • Identity proof (as mentioned above)
  • Address proof (as mentioned above)
  • Cancelled cheque leaf of your bank account

In case your pickup location address is different form your identity proof address, then you must submit one of these documents as the pickup location address proof:

  • Rental / Lease agreement
  • Electricity bill
  • Landline bill
  • Water tax

How long does it take for loan disbursement?

The money transfer is instantaneous! We will leave your premises only after the money has hit your bank account.

Return of the gold

How do I initiate a gold return?

Navigate to 'My Loans' section in the app and select the pledged gold and tap on ‘Return’. Alternatively, you can call us at 08068186818. The gold return will be initiated once you pay the outstanding loan amount.

What is the assurance that the gold returned is the same?

We have a highly standardized and stringent operations process that ensures the safety and sanity of your gold at all points in time – from pickup to storage to return. We have tech enabled systems that ensure robust tracking for gold safekeeping.

I have found a discrepancy in the returned gold ?

Please call our helpline 080-39534646 and we will assist you.

Will my gold be returned to my place?

The gold will be returned only to your registered address. Once the outstanding loan amount is paid, you can select the date and delivery time slot, and the gold will be returned.

Can you return the gold to a different address?

We will return the jewellery only at the registered address. In case you want to change your registered address, please call us at 080-39534646.


How can I make a repayment / pay interest?

You can make a repayment or pay your interest through any of the following modes:

  • Pay online on the Rupeek website or on our Android App using -

    • Internet Banking
    • Debit Cards
    • UPI
    • eNACH
  • Money transfer using NEFT/RTGS/IMPS

  • Pay in Cash at your home (upto 1 lakh INR)

What is eNACH ?

eNACH stands for Electronic National Automated Clearing House. It is an easier way to pay for all recurring payments like loan EMIs, telephone bills, insurance premiums, SIPs etc.

For instance, if you are taking a loan, you can register for eNACH and pay for the interest amount in just one click.

Am I eligible for eNACH ?

Anyone with an Aadhaar linked bank account at a participating bank is eligible to apply for e-Mandates.

What do I need to do to register for eNACH ?

eNACH can be directly set through a netbanking transaction. You just need to complete a one time netbanking transaction authorization after which all subsequent payments will be "one click" transactions.

What happens in case of insufficient balance in my bank account?

Like any other online transaction, in times of insufficient balance, the payment is denied.

How will the payment through eNACH be reflected in my Bank Account Statement ?

Payments will be reflected as NEFT Bank transfers from your account.

Is eNACH enabled for all the lending partners?

For now, we have enabled eNACH only for the loans by Rupeek Capital Pvt. Ltd.

We will launch payment via eNACH for other lending partners soon.

Privacy and Security

Will my gold be safe?

Don’t worry, safety of your gold is our top priority and it is 100% safe with us. We follow standardized and stringent processes to ensure your gold is safe at every part of the process.

Who is responsible for the gold?

Rupeek and its registered partners assume complete responsibility for the gold. This includes secure transportation, storage in vaults, and returning the gold safely to your home.

Mobile app

My smartphone OS is not Android.

We are soon launching an app for iOS and Windows OS. Till then you can avail our services on call – 080-68186818

The app is not supported by my mobile.

You smartphone must have a minimum of Android 4.1 to run our app. Please check your version and upgrade if possible.

I did not receive an OTP

Appraisal process

How do I know if the executive is authentic?

You can authenticate our executive through the following steps:

  • In app verification -Once the executive reaches your premises, an OTP will be sent to your number which the executive will then enter on his app to verify the match.
  • ID Card -The executive will display his I-card
  • ID Proof -The executive can display a government ID proof upon being requested.

Which tests are done on the gold?

We conduct modern, state of the art tests to appraise your gold.

I'm not happy with the process

At any point if you are not happy with the process, you can cancel the entire process on our app. Your privacy and safety are our top priority.

I'm not happy with the loan amount

If you are not happy with the loan amount eligibility, you are free to refuse the offer. No questions asked.
